More Than…

I remember, I am no longer where I once was and I am more than the gravitational pull between myself and the Earth. I am the travels I am planning and the nights of laughter with the grannies, I am the daughter who needs to be strong, I am the actress who will succeed, I am the writer who has finished a play…almost, I am the baker and the cook, I am the friend who people can cry on over a break up, I am the lover, though I don’t always show it, I am the giggler with Mickey, I am the yes woman (sorry Jake), I am learning to say no, I am a sister, I am the confidant. I am dedicated to a life of hedonistic pursuit. I am more than the gap between my legs or the dip where my hips meet me thigh, and that is vital.

Workout Roundup of 2017

So anyone who knows me (or who has read my latest post), will know I am NOT one for punishing New Years resolutions, but here’s a roundup of my favourite London workouts of the year and where to keep an eye out for in 2018. Enjoy!   1. Barrys Bootcamp – Always and forever my favourite. Sprinting, sweating and potentially swearing a couple of times a week 😉 2. Velocity @ Core Collective – Hit up Ben’s classes. A new addition to my list (thank you Mickey for introducing me to Core). The classes are changing, but I’m excited to see what this gorgeous gym, just off High st Ken has in store for next year. (Full post to come). 3. Tempo Pilates – the most challenging reformer class I know. 4. Barrecore – anyone who says a barre class isn’t challenging isn’t working in the right way. 5. Hot Yoga @ Another Space – fast paced and sweaty with a hint of dancers flow, the only kinda yoga I enjoy! 6. Kobox – nothing will make you feel more badass. 7. Doghouse Fitness – why aren’t you closer? 8. Pole fitness and aerial silks @ gymbox – all the pain and burns, but both incredible workouts. 9. Blueprint @ Bodyism – the most beautiful boutique gym I know with incredible trainers and gorgeous food! A whole body and...

New Year, New Me? Bollocks to that!

“New year, new me”. Bollocks to that! I’ve never quite understood why the dawn of a new year should make so many of us sit back and think “I am not good enough, time to totally change”. It’s the point at which we all start resolving to lose weight, shell out for expensive gym memberships, load up on the kale and vow to give up chocolate and carbs. We look back over the year and apparently, we come up lacking. Nope, enough of that please. In a society which runs on a strange oscillation between self hate and selfies,...

Dog House Fitness

New kid on the block (the South West London block), is ‘Dog House Fitness’, a boutique fitness studio, nestled in brunch ridden Balham, offering spin, box and raw vegan fun. As my nearest and dearest will tell you, I have a phobia of spinning, indeed, I am yet to find a spin class I enjoy, and as I am a firm believer that exercise should be fun, I opted for a box session this Saturday morning. The Workout: A 45 minutes high intensity circuit class, incorporating weights, calisthenics, cardio and boxing drills on a bag. There’s a reason Gigi...

Maple Pecan Granola

This granola is full of autumnal flavours, without being laden with butter and refined sugar, as many of the store bought ones are. It’s so easy and perfect for sprinkling over smoothie bowls and keeping me energised all through rehearsals and castings. This is one of my favourite recipes. The egg whites are optional, they help make clusters, but aren’t necessary. It’s all a bit ad hoc, because that’s how I make my granola. Chop and change the bits of seeds for your favourite and play around with quantities. Granola is pretty flexible. Enjoy! Ingredients 1/2 cup of pecans...
